The war is coming

This week has been a challenge. Rob had to buy a new computer because the old one died. I managed to bring the old one back to life just long enough to get all the data from it.
We are still getting things setup on the new one. Vista sucks.

Today we went to get supplies and you know what that means. We hurt ourselves with food.
We went to McDonalds and got a pile of double cheese burgers, some fries and drinks. After eating we realized we didn't see what the specialty burger was. So on the way back we stopped at another McDonalds and bought more burgers.
Then came the meat sweats. The best way to deal with meat sweats is to take a nap but we had to journey on. There was work to do.

Today we got one printer set up but tomorrow we will try to set up the big one. I'm pretty sure it's not compatible with Vista so it will be a tough day.
Tonight I pray to the computer Gods.

Rob is struggling with some new ideas. The paint and oil fumes are pungent today. Now I'm full and high. and sleepy....
These new paintings are looking really good.

Time to dive back into Vista-land. Wish me luck.

(no subject)

It's been a busy week
Of course Monday was St Patty's Day. Just another exscuse to do bad stuff. I managed to make my vodka green. Rob had beer. Fortunately I didn't dance with anyone this time.

Tuesday we went to Home Depot and bought the material to build the shelves we've been wanting for his paintings. Of course we stopped at Wendys and hurt ourselves again. That ended up being a short day....

Wednesday we actually built it. With just the right mixture of sweat and booze it was completed successfully. It even came out the way it was supposed to. Not sure how the hell that happened.

Today I finished the new photography wall, ate lunch and now wrote this.
Here's a few more shots of the studio:

If you've been wondering what happened to the mini heart series that was on last week it was sold to a private collecter.
There will be a single larger heart painting listed tonight.
Be sure to ckeck it out : Dowling Studios
The painting you see in the first photo will be going on eBay either tonight or tomorrow.

Today's lunch was a seafood salad sandwhich with pretzels and water. I slapped a little Frank's RedHot on it so we'll see how that goes a little later..
Rob had a huge salad.

We would like to give a shout out to Torie Amos...wink wink, nudge nudge.

Booze and a loose nut

Robert has listed a new mini series on eBay entitled "A Heart Never Cries"
This was all created in one day, here's a video of the painting:

Be sure to go check them out on eBay

Right now Rob is being insane running around with a video camera filming everything.
He's coming up with some pretty good stuff. I guess it pays to have a screw loose.....

There will be an early lunch today, I didn't have any breakfast and I'm out of whiskey.
Perhaps another crappy sandwhich and a snort of vodka.

He's insane and I'm an alcoholic....we work well together....

Tea is ready, gotta go.
Have a great weekend

a sickness

There was a small set back yesterday. Robert has the flu.
The new heart series will be listed on eBay tonight. Be sure to ckeck it out.

Here's a sneak peak:

I've been busy working on the new photography wall. There is so much going on we are quickly running out of room.
We are now stocked up on wood for a bit. Temperatures are slowly warming up so we won't be ripping through it so quickly.

Today's lunch was just a crappy sandwich from the store. fills a hole.....
Rob had some roasted chicken with some Texas Pete. I think he enjoyed his lunch more than I did.

Today Scott and I went shopping for the studio. items purchased:

All purpose joint compound
Paint
Exercise bike

I have many paintings coming soon. Next week I plan on trying to create 10 "Heart" paintings in one day... should be interesting. If successful they will become available via eBay by the end of next week.

For lunch we had a feast fit for a king... the Spicy Baconator from Wendy’s... Scott ate most of my fries... bastard. Now he is washing it all down with cheap Vodka... I drank too many beers last night and I await my second wind... then the beer shall flow once again.

Day 3

We're back.
We were buried by another storm and today we are getting more. I think it's going to be mostly rain though.

Rob is hard at work with some new frames and ideas. The dark one is looking really good.

"Daydreamer" is now on eBay. Stop by and check it out

I had a painful weekend.
I started the day with a couple shots of cheap vodka. Went to Walmart and fought the crazies.
That night I went to friend's house to finish off my liver.
I think around midnight I remember dancing in the living room to a slow song with a girl. I didn't last long after that. I layed down on the couch and the room started spinning. I remember getting up for some water and then it was morning.
We got up at 6:30 because Mike was called in to work to plow.
We got in the truck and as soon as we hit the road I knew things were not good. I did manage to make it to the store but I had to throw up in the parking lot while he got his coffee. mmmm, recycled booze.
We pulled over one more time on the interstate but it was a false alarm.

I got home and went back to bed. I got up around 10am and had to shovel two feet of snow off my uncles roof. That was rough.
yup, that was my weekend. Monday never felt so good.

Day 2

Busy day today at the studio.
Robert has so many paintings going on at once it's hard to keep track of what he's doing. But as usual they all look great.

This photo shows a number of paintings in various stages.

There is a big storm coming this weekend. I will be bunkered down  playing Warcraft and warming up with a bottle of cheap booze. I'm sure Robert will be doing the same.

Robert has approved 3 more paintings to be released for auction for next week. So keep an eye out for them and go check out his current auctions here.

Today's lunch is a spiral ham.....

See you after the storm

Day 1

We decided to create a journal of daily activities that go on in the studio.
With this you will find daily information of Dowling’s past and upcoming works and events.

Sneak peaks of upcoming paintings and works in progress will also be available.

All posts will be entered by Scott Tucker. Robert Dowling will also contribute occasionally but due to a vigorous studio schedule his time is limited.

We hope you continue to come back and read our posts and join in the madness.

Today for lunch we had Subway....
